Weekend Retreat

Here we go again
Saturday afternoon the kids were given a choice of what they wanted to do.  Dissection or home ec.  Taylor and the boys chose home ec and Elyssa and Keisha dissection. These were before we left to go to another cabin for dissection.

Set up and ready to go

Keisha was tired so not all that into it.
Getting some help from Mrs Best.

We came back to pretzel mania.

 Little bit on her pants.
Hmmmm.  Is this where the flour goes.

Look at those tired eyes and it only got worse
Favorite place Fireside Room. Air hockey, foseball, and ping pong.  Shaun playing another boy.  Elyssa and Calleigh

Jayden playing fose ball.

In the evening there was dot painting.  I am not sure how many dots happened with exhausted boys but there was painting happening

Ohhhh are you surprised Elyssa and Calleigh

This morning there were games for the kids.  The 4 younger in one game had to figure different things about team mates, like who could whistle and smallest feet

The bigger kids had 5 different games to play but after being given the first one they extended it out and became bigger than the teacher ever thought.  They had to build a free standing structure out of newspaper.  They had about an hour.

Back downstairs and Keisha trying to whistle for her team

The final structure of Taylor's team.  The other team had 88inches, and Taylor's team was 109 inches tall.  At lunch time the other one fell over and they ended up have to take this one down.  So I guess that they built a really stable structure.  It was an amazing weekend just very tiring.  Everyone went to bed super early tonight and I will not set my alarm tomorrow so hopefully they can sleep in a bit before having to go for school again.  We will have to see what happens for the rest of the month.

A busy February so Far

We have been super busy so far this month and we are only at the 9th.  This week we had the chance to go once again to the orchestra and I took all the kids this time.  We saw Puckster goes to the Olympics.

Then we just came back from a weekend away with Northstar (Shaun's school board).  I was originally not going to go because it would have been expensive for us all to go and then I found out that we just had to pay a deposit and then we got it back once we showed up.  I am really glad that we went.  Doug was going to come with us and then he had an employee throw a fit and knock over a water cooler and then we was not allowed on site so he could not come back.  I am thankful though that Doug's mom was able to come.  There was a class Saturday afternoon that was optional and I could not supervise both at the same time.
After getting settled into our room in the evening the fun started.  The first night was Language Arts and we were talking about the 8 parts of speech and we focused on prepositions.  Elyssa was the window, Keisha was the and Taylor flew.  They had to get in order so we could focus on the prepositions.

The next day we did orienteering and fire building.  These are fire building pictures.  Getting instructions and breaking into groups
Elyssa and her friend, Calleigh.  They became inseparable.
Trying to get a picture of Taylor.  Her mitt looks good eh?

Keisha decieded that she would smile pretty.

 Taylor still fighting it.

oops the hat is off now.  Trying to get it on without me getting her picture.

 Hey mom. Look at me.

 Taylor and the flint.

 Lets get this thing going.
