An Interesting Week

We had a lot of rain this week. It rained for just over a full week.  The first day it was lots of fun.

The kindergarten class always does a trip to the zoo. We went on Wednesday. You can bring any younger siblings because the parents take their kids around.  It was a cold drizzly day.

Here we are at the entrance. There are lots of animal sculptures to get your picture taken with.

This is outside the Australian exhibit.
They loved the elephants.  They had a hard time understanding why the elephants (and a few other animals) would not talk to them. They were yelling 'Hi Elephant'

Sunday was Elyssa's 7th birthday. We did a family get together for lunch to celebrate her birthday and Duncan and Eden's birthday because the three of them are all 2 weeks apart.  No one brought a camera to take pictures (will try to remember for Elyssa's kid party tho). Keisha celebrated by pulling out 2 of her teeth.  The adult teeth had already come up behind them so it was just a matter of time.

Today our neighbor was working on prepping their driveway for cement and Shaun just had to go and look at the machine that he was using.  We walked around it a few times and Mr P. asked Shaun if he wanted to go for a ride. He was all over it and super excited when he came home.

Show and Shine

Last weekend there was a 'Show and Shine' in town. Shaun loved walking around all the fancy cars. One man let them honk the horn of a 1920's vehicle.  I think that the highlight for all of them was the fire truck that the Town of Didsbury had set up. They had gear for them to try on and they could actually climb into the fire truck.

Quilt Finished

I started this quilt 2 years ago. It is called Stellar Log Cabins. It is designed by a lady in Olds.  Each strip starts out as a 1" piece that is no longer than 4", so the finished pieces are 1/2" wide by 1/2" to 3.5". If you were to cut all the pieces from one strip it would be 4464 inches long .  Not everything is lined up properly because I used washed fabric and did not starch it, lesson learned, so it is not fully square. The bottom picture is of the back

And the Process begins

We decided that we are going to lock Keisha's hair.  This is a long process but the first part is done thanks to an awesome Aunt who is willing to sit and do many braids.  She will not have full locks for another 6-9 months. We are in the baby steps.
