A New Journey is Starting and Some Shots That Were On My Phone

This is just finishing in the chair.  Love all the big curls, but with an active girl they did not look like this at ceremony time.
Auntie Merry with her hair standing up.
Keisha and her curls.  This is the only time that she has been happy about having curls
This is Taylor's 4H group at the steer show.  She is in there somewhere.

This is Shaun on our special date at the start of our new journey.  And how do you start a new journey?  You go for chili and salads, because that is all we can eat.  After talking with a few different people, including Shaun's teacher, Doug and I decided that we would start homeschooling Shaun.  There are many different reasons but the main ones are that he is not able to sit still and him not being able to go 3 days a week to school let alone the 5 for grade 1.  So this day Jayden was on a field trip to the Children's Festival with his class, which he really only told us that he got to go on a big bus with comfy seats for a long trip, and of course the girls were at school.  Shaun and I needed to pick out his language/reading/spelling program.  In April I had gone to the homeschool conference and picked out a few things that we were going to do but language I was stumped on.  So we were off to Canadian Home Education Resources in Calgary.  What a neat store.   We were there for 2.5 hours and the only reason we left is because we were hungry.  We have now decided on what we are going to do and I have spent time this week doing all the ordering.  I am really excited about this new journey and I am excited to see where it will lead us in the future.

A busy day

It has been a super busy weekend.  Friday night we had the rehearsal for Merry and Chad's wedding, after spending the day at the ranch.  Doug took Taylor and Elyssa up to pick up some more bucklings (33) so that meant that I had goat duty.  Of course I had to bring in all the big does for kidding.  I would go out see one starting to kid and then drag it in and then I would go back out and have to bring in another. We ended up with 8 kids born while I was at the ranch on Friday.  Doug figures that we are now up to about 300 goat.

So back to the wedding.  We had rehearsal on Friday night, which was good.  The second time around in practice the boys, who were groomsmen in training, got up to the front and Shaun planted a kiss on Jayden.  It was super funny.  We even ended up with our dresses completed on Wednesday which gave us a couple days to spare.  But if it had been Merry's way I would have started months ago, but it was so much more fun to wait. Last Saturday I started cutting out my dress and had work to do on Elyssa's dress and had only finished Keisha's on the Thursday prior.  She really loved me.

So here is a family picture that Aunt Jean took for us. It was really sunny and it was a long day.

And here is Auntie Merry and Uncle Chad, and he is officially lost his title of Uncle in training.

Show and Shine

Today is the annual Show and Shine in town.  There are always lots of cars there.  Our goal is always to find  a 1961 Thunderbird because that is what my dad has.  We came really close this year with a 1962.
Hey dad this one was for sale or trade

This is a different one but the same colour

We got to see the roof go into the trunk on this one.
This one is from the 50's but I forget what year it was.

Still waiting on the 4H pictures.

Girls Night Out

Toby Mac came to town again and of course we had to go to it.  We got our tickets on the first day which was a good thing because it sold out in 5 days.  It was an amazing concert.  We were close too which was nice.  We were 3rd row left center.  Right in front of the speakers.
In their new concert shirts waiting for the show to start

Toby Mac.  The angle that we were at the lights hit the phone camera.  Jamie Grace and Mr Talkbox opened.  All in all an awesome night.

I do have Taylor's 4H mock show pictures but I am trying to figure out how to get them posted here.

Some More Ranch Time.

Doug had a meeting the other day so Jayden and I were on goat duty for the afternoon.  In the end nothing kidded so we were good and we just hung out.

Here is a kid that was born this morning.  This is the only one that survived of a triplet group to a first time mom.  They really do start out tiny.

Right now Taylor is at her 4H meeting where they are doing a mock show.
