I went to a second hand kids sale on the weekend and when I saw this shirt I knew that I just had to pick it up. Here is Jay sporting his new shirt.

Grandpa leaves
Dad came for a visit and we fell behind updating this and then a bunch of us got sick, not too bad but colds, fevers and being really tired.
We had a great visit with Grandpa. He brought the kids paper books and this is what we did with them.
Look one foot and lots of books.
Grandpa missed the chinook and it turned really cold when he was here. We enjoyed lots of hot chocolate.
One day I went to have a shower and came out to find that an accident had happened just outside my bedroom door.
Keisha saw me straightening my hair one day and asked if I would straighten her hair. Auntie Merry did it first and then I touched it up the next day.

Grandpa is here
Since Keisha and Jay have come home there has been a fight as to who's turn it is to help me in the kitchen. I kept forgetting who had helped when so I have now assigned a day of the week where each kid helps. Last night was Shaun's turn. On the menu: meat pie with biscuits. Meat pie is no longer what it was when I grew up. Mom used to take stew beef and brown it and then boil it, make a gravy and then put it in a pie pan and make a pie crust to put on top. It was really yummy and the crust was the best part. I on the other hand hate making pie crust with a passion, so I started to put the meat into a casserole dish and then put biscuits and bake them. I have realized that in the dishwasher I am better to put the biscuits on a cookie sheet instead of another big dish to go into the dishwasher. So it is now called meat pie and biscuits, even though there is nothing pie about it. Here he is after the biscuits are in the oven.
Love the flour in the hair.
Today the boys and I went down to Five Guys Burgers and Fries for lunch on our way to the airport. What a yummy place. I ordered one small burger for me and I was stuffed. I got one burger for the boys to split, then I ordered one small fries. I pulled out the cup of fries and realized that there were more in the bag. There were a few handfuls of fries in the bag.
We went to pick my dad up from the airport. This is the first time he has been out for awhile and he had yet to meet the three little kids. Here they are climbing on grandpa
Starting with the little girls, now onto the oldest......
Oops she almost took Grandpa down
Let's see how many kids it takes to cover grandpa
Looks like five will do it.

I didn't realize...
That diaper cream was such a fun toy. For the last 3 days Jay has gotten into the diaper cream no matter where I leave it. I think that I am going to have to get a lock to lock a certain area in the house. This was the time that he had the least amount of it on himself. I asked him if he had gotten into the diaper cream and he said 'no'. I think he was lying.
Do you think that he is telling the truth?

Happy Valentine`s Day
We had a really nice Valentine`s Day. It started with me getting a call from Doug at 7:20am saying that he hit a deer. He figured that he did about $3500-$4000 damage. He is fine. I am not sure that I will get to see what he did to it. He is now home and he sent me a picture.
He now thinks that there is more damage done. The hood is bent and the passenger side door can no longer open. The deer is no longer alive.
It was another really nice day out, above 0. Which means mud! The kids gave me a wonderful Valentine`s present. 5 kids to shower, 2 extra loads of laundry and mud on the walls and floor to clean. I did get about 30 minutes of quiet while they were playing.

A Warm Winter Day in Alberta
I did a trip up to Walmart this morning with all the kids. We walked through the door and the greeter figured that I needed another cart. But he was not willing to push it for me. I realized that once again I had forgotten to check who had rain boots that fit and who did not. I figured that I would do it today and get them on my next trip. We came out of Walmart and it was beautiful out. I love chinook's! I think that the van read that it was 7 degrees. We came home and it was so nice that the boys wanted to go outside. Who would say no to that? After sorting through what rain boots I had, the girls were good and the boys could make due with what we had for a few days. Elyssa, Keisha and Shaun were all jumping or should I say slipping on the trampoline because there was still a little bit of snow on the trampoline. Jay was playing in the snow with a truck.
I then hear a knock on the door, it was Elyssa and Keisha
They are covered in mud. And not just mud but loam. Here they are without their coats on. Keisha's pants are light pink can you tell.
There is one spot in the yard that when the neighbors built there house that the grass got torn up and is loam. The boys were having fun with their trucks in the mud too. That means laundry and lots of it. I have learned that if loam sits on clothes and dries it will not come out no matter what you do.
The boys continued to play outside
Love the trucks!
Maybe a tad muddy
Shaun was not very happy that I wanted to take his picture. He was really cold when he finally decided to come in. But nothing a war bath would not fix. Overall a fun day with only 2 loads of laundry to clean all the gear.
