Since Keisha and Jay have come home there has been a fight as to who's turn it is to help me in the kitchen. I kept forgetting who had helped when so I have now assigned a day of the week where each kid helps. Last night was Shaun's turn. On the menu: meat pie with biscuits. Meat pie is no longer what it was when I grew up. Mom used to take stew beef and brown it and then boil it, make a gravy and then put it in a pie pan and make a pie crust to put on top. It was really yummy and the crust was the best part. I on the other hand hate making pie crust with a passion, so I started to put the meat into a casserole dish and then put biscuits and bake them. I have realized that in the dishwasher I am better to put the biscuits on a cookie sheet instead of another big dish to go into the dishwasher. So it is now called meat pie and biscuits, even though there is nothing pie about it. Here he is after the biscuits are in the oven.
Love the flour in the hair.
Today the boys and I went down to Five Guys Burgers and Fries for lunch on our way to the airport. What a yummy place. I ordered one small burger for me and I was stuffed. I got one burger for the boys to split, then I ordered one small fries. I pulled out the cup of fries and realized that there were more in the bag. There were a few handfuls of fries in the bag.
We went to pick my dad up from the airport. This is the first time he has been out for awhile and he had yet to meet the three little kids. Here they are climbing on grandpa
Starting with the little girls, now onto the oldest......
Oops she almost took Grandpa down
Let's see how many kids it takes to cover grandpa
Looks like five will do it.
